Blog : Weekend Family Camping at Elora Gorge Canada
We love camping so much that our favorite getaways are camping trips, even if its just for a weekend. Our daughter loves setting up the tent and gathering sticks for kindling so that we can start our evening campfire. This was our first camping trip in Canada. We went to Elora Gorge which is one of the most beautiful and spectacular natural area in the Grand River valley . Tubing adventures, splash pad, sport fields, trails and access to great fishing on the Grand River make Elora Gorge Park a great place to camp.
The playground for kids was just behind our campsite. It had swings and slides. It was a busy weekend and lots of kids were playing there. And Kiara was very happy to join them .
We cudnt do tubing because Kiara was too small for the height requirement. We were a little disappointed but it didnt stop us from enjoying the river by ourselves. We took Kiara in the water for sometime and had lots of fun.It was chilly.
We did campfire in the evening
The weather was so nice in the morning, we went for a morning walk that lasted almost 3 hours. There are three kilometres of walking trails in the conservation area, offering views of the 22-metre deep gorge. We just followed the marked trail. We didnt mean to do the whole 3 kilometers initially . But we loved walking inside the forest so much that we ended up doing the full circle. The scenery was spectacular. Thankfully i had my backpack with water and snacks with me and we didnt have to go back .Thats a must if you do any activity with kids.
