great read, hanks for that trip down 80's amnesia lane and my parents urging me to go out and play in the sunshine instead of learning to program basic on the bbc 'b'.

i don't have a telescreen any more, haven't watched programming for years, as you're right, that's all it is, and if you are in any way aware or awoke it is so transparent what bad/ orwellian mindsets all media are giving to the next generation.

as far as the internet is concerned, what started out as wonderful, limitless possibilities is now a more extreme and advanced version of total control/ manipulation/ surveillance - a device you carry with you at all times that knows where you are, who you're with, what you're doing, and what you're saying to each other? how big brother would have loved that! and they they don't even have to force it on people!

i could write a response as long as your post, but as it should be fairly clear where i'm coming from by now, i'll leave you with a few memes i made a while back. i think the hardest thing for people is pulling themselves away and finding 'other' things to do with their time besides tv/ social media. but then, what did we do in the 80's?
