Storytime - How We Almost Got Stuck in Vancouver Last Week at a Crypto Event
Hi Steem Fam!
We are kicking off our week on Networking with a fun story. Watch for our episodes coming later tonight and then on Sunday. (I'm heading into the backcountry for 4 days this week - and so our schedule is a little funky!)
The idea for this week's theme was sparked by a crypto networking event we went to last week in Vancouver. We'll chat about all sorts of fun things in the episodes... but wanted to share our scary moment of almost getting stuck in Vancouver overnight!

It was definitely a close call! We would love to visit Asia more...but I'm afraid time and money get in the way. I'm planning to attend Steemfest this year for sure! Mary is hoping to as well...but i'm not sure about her yet.

HaHa! I did get stuck in Vancouver once.
Was on the road to Alaska. Developed a bad corneal abrasion. Couldn't drive. Stopped and got seen by a doctor (who only spoke french), picked up some medicine and checked onto the nearest motel. Eye was hurting so bad that I just couldn't drive. Stayed the first day and got hungry.
Went looking for food, but while walking around saw many scantily clad women (daytime). Strange, but not too upsetting to a 24 year-old male, if odd. Desk said there is a bar downstairs with some bar food. Great! Go down and enter this bar which was a weird combination bar/pool hall/dance club/strip club (explained the birthday suit hall walkers).
Stayed another day and got stuck again because it was their independence day and traffic was horrendous. The nighttime devolved into many less than scantily clad (naked) women roaming up and down the hall all night in party mode (I think all the strippers stayed in the motel).
The whole thing was quite surreal. Somehow whenever I left the room to get ice or food, I felt like a weirdo. Mostly clothed and wearing a gauze eyepatch, I would get suspicious looks from all the naked girls. HaHa!
Needless to say, because I was short on time I cancelled the Alaska excursion and returned back to work in the States. Didn't get to see much of Vancouver (none of Alaska), but what I did see was "memorable" :-0
Captain Obvious later found out from some locals that this was a bad area and I shouldn't have been there!
@steemsistershow, Sometimes we experience some events which let us know the true meaning of Upside Down phase. Have a pleasant and peaceful time ahead and stay blessed.
