Love or Self exaltation
Life is full of individuals with different characters . In short, I'll say pride or arrogancy is the father of the day. Many will be doing things to others, just to be recognized in the society. Is that how to practice love?
Let's take for example, a chronic smoker will not a dime, but with faith he will leave his house and go to the joint believing he will surely see someone to buy him cigarette. On getting there, his friends will surely get him one stick at least. That is love. An alcohol addict will leave his house without any penny, believing he will surely drink when he go out. On reaching the joint, his friends will surely get him drink. That also is love!
But it is highly impossible for a poor man to leave his house for the congregation/mosque and have the same faith with the smoker and drunkard, it is impossible. Because no one will surely take notice of him in the congregation. Which is not suppose to be so. Because the Bible make us understand that; if we have two tunics, we should give those that have none one, if we have two shoes we should those with one. But Christians of now a days, prefer to build the whole church, buy the pastor or founder vehicle, pay gigantic and robust tithes and offerings; all in the name of making himself known by the church and the pastor. So that his name will be the topic of sermon every Sunday, but why?
Are we to express God's love that way?
I don't know in other communities, but over here, where I am presently that's what am experiencing.
Some people will not even bother to take good care of their own family, but rather having extra marital affairs outside their homes and even giving to those that will always make them famous. But the question is 'is this how Jesus asked us to demonstrate his love?
I witnessed something yesterday when I went work as a part-time event attendant. I was in-charge of washing the used plates of which when I was doing that, I noticed a particular family man out of many. He was busy packing the left-over or remnants which was poured on the field. He was handpicking every single rice that fell into a bag, of which I know what he wanted to use them for. I pitied him slot, because I know that that is what him and his family members are eating that night. Now look at that. And mind you we have many rich men in the party, that were eating and drinking with joy. Happy seeing those type of individuals, which is very bad.
I don't know, maybe God will Himself come down to earth and change some things.
But I think, we ourselves need changes. We need to check ourselves to know what we lack.
