Thoughts at work: Breathe // Pensamientos en el trabajo: Respirar

The moment I see you I forget to breathe. I know your face and memorize it each time I see you. Every feature is burned into my memory and still I cannot breathe.

En el momento en que te veo me olvido de respirar. Conozco tu cara y la memorizo cada vez que te veo. Cada rasgo está grabado en mi memoria y aún así no puedo respirar.

You smile and it takes my breath away. Nothing but that kiss can disable me more than your smile. Because you do it for me and the blessing that you are to me is incredulous to me. If there ever was a grateful man- I am him.

Sonríe y me quita el aliento. Nada más que ese beso puede deshabilitarme más que tu sonrisa. Porque lo haces por mí y la bendición que eres para mí es incrédula para mí. Si alguna vez hubo un hombre agradecido- yo soy él.

The sound of your voice sends a rush through me and I forget to breathe. In the next moment I remember myself and respond to you- but first I must begin to breathe again. It has been like this since the moment I first saw you; when dear and excitement left me speechless. We have been together for a while and in this time the involuntary reaction has not diminished though I have better control.

El sonido de tu voz me hace pasar por encima de mí y me olvido de respirar. En el siguiente momento me recuerdo a mí mismo y te respondo, pero primero debo empezar a respirar de nuevo. Ha sido así desde el momento en que te vi por primera vez; cuando el cariño y la excitación me dejaron sin palabras. I know your body and every time I see it is like the first. My mind goes blank, words fail me and I forget to breathe. Even if I could breathe, no words will come. I speak passably in four languages and none are passable in that moment.

Conozco tu cuerpo y cada vez que lo veo es como el primero. Mi mente se queda en blanco, las palabras me fallan y me olvido de respirar. Incluso si pudiera respirar, no vendrían las palabras. Hablo pasablemente en cuatro idiomas y ninguno es pasable en ese momento.

We talk for hours and in that time you say things that take my breath away. I do not understand everything, but I understand everything. You are my best friend, my partner, my lover. I feel like I have known you my whole life. And still- I always forget to breathe.

Hablamos durante horas y en ese tiempo dices cosas que me dejan sin aliento. No lo entiendo todo, pero lo entiendo todo. Eres mi mejor amiga, mi pareja, mi amante. Siento que te conozco de toda la vida. Y aún así- siempre me olvido de respirar.
