Turns out I'm a state citizen, courts recognize state and 14th amendment citizenship, and oh, by the way, state citizens dont' pay federal income tax.
I'm fairly sure that's not a thing. Or else there would be people in states that don't have income taxes that manage to live tax free using that.

Seems this is part of the sovereign citizen movement...members of which regularly get owned by the courts. While it would be nice if we didn't have to deal with the government being dicks and taking our money and such, it's really not that easy. The US is so brash they actually charge to drop your citizenship...which of course you need to get another first.
