Hot Springs & Lasagna? The Perfect Combination.
What an awesome day! My girlfriend and I took a trip up to Vail, Colorado for a few days thanks to my awesome parents who set it all up for us, and since we were so close, a trip to the Glenwood Hot Springs was in order. Glenwood Springs is a MAJOR tourist attraction in Colorado. If features the worlds largest mountain swimming pool and it’s always 94-110 degrees due to the natural mineral hot springs in the area.
The main pool is the most well known but not the best deal or even the nicest place (depending on the environment your looking for or course). We decided on Iron Mountain Hot Springs which is in the same city but it’s not as commercial, has free locker storage, towels and complementary bathroom soaps, lotions and nice amenities. Not to mention about 8 bucks cheaper for an all day pass.
Built right above the river and a backdrop of snowy mountains makes this place not only a great soak but spectacular views are worth the price of admission alone.
There are 21 pools and they are all a little different in temperature so you can try them all to find the one that fits you perfectly. The whole place smells like natural sulfur (similar to rotten eggs) but mixed with some eucalyptus which makes it tolerable.
This is a photo of The original Glenwood Springs pool and as you can see..... this place holds a gang of people.
If your ever in Glenwood Springs, this place is a must stop. It’s a 35 yr old Italian restaurant called the Italian Underground. It’s a little hard to find because it’s tucked away kinda under an overpass bridge and it’s actually underground! This place is old school gangster! The food is solid but the white and red checked table cloths make you feel like your in NYC Little Italy instead of the snowy Rocky Mountains. If I were gong to Glenwood any other time, this would be the spot I would eat at anyway but, with a little bribery from my mom and dad to bring home some frozen lasagna, it really sealed the deal.
I hope if you ever find yourself in Glenwood Springs, Colorado you will take my advice and put these two local hotspots at the top of your “todo” list.
Damn damn damn, A 21 pool hot springs and some lazagna to munch, can life get any better??

Looks so good! Now if Colorado could just build a wall to keep other foodies out!
Vail is building a wall right now.....Aspen is gonna pay for it. Bahahahahahahaha 😂😂
Glenwood Springs is a regular spot I like taking my family to and they all love the city. Benn hitting up the Glenwood Adventure Park to ride the Alpine Roller Coaster and the rest of the amusement park.

What a beautiful place, but I'm not sure I could take the rotten egg smell 24/7.
