Etihad and Emirates Airlines Express Interest in Purchasing PIA

ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to privatize PIA before the elections, Minister of Privatization, Danial Aziz, said that privatization of other institutions will start soon.

While talking to the foreign news agency Reuters, the Minister for Privatization, Danial Aziz, said that the government intends to sell PIA under the new plan, to try the privilege of PIA before the next elections. Emirates and coalition Airlines expressed their interest in purchasing.

Minister of Privatization said that in this regard the recommendations of the Privatization Commission will be presented to Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, this phase of submission of recommendations may be completed next week, but before the Parliament for the PIA privatization Bill will have to reject a legislation made in the year 2016, which was named PIA Limited Company.
