A couple of years ago while strolling down a busy shopping area of Islamabad I walked into a bookshop and started searching some good books on history.A book that caught my eye was,
The Murder of History.
I had heard about its fame.So I bought it instantaneously.

The title of the book is shown up below.It was authored by our eminent historian,
Prof Khursheed Kamal Aziz (aka KK Aziz).
He was born in Faisalabad,former Lyallpur,Punjab.He taught at various distinguished universities like, Punjab, Cambridge and Heidelberg. He was a great scholar of impressive educational attainments.

In this book,he laments the status of education in Pakistan. He selected 66 different textbooks from all provinces of Pakistan (Punjab,Sind,N-WFP,and Balochistan)and meticulously scrutinised their contents.

He averred that history which is being taught in Pakistan is nothing but national mythology and the subjects of Social Studies and Pakistan Studies are but vehicles of political indoctrination.Children in Pakistan don't learn history.They are succumbed to read a carefully selected collection of falsehoods,fairytales and plain lies.

He conceded that 1857 Mutiny was not a War of Freedom but rather it was a local uprising against British Raj.

He named Sir Syed Ahmed Khan the sole proponent of Two-Nation Theory.

He falsified the notion of 23 March 1940 as Pakistan Resolution. It was a Lahore Resolution. The word Pakistan didn't appear in that famous resolution.
He questioned its date;it was not 23 March but rather 24 March when this resolution was ratified.

The Day of Independence of Pakistan was not 14 August but it was 15 August.
Till 1949 Pakistan celebrated its national day on 15 August,not 14 August.

In Lahore Resolution 1940,there was not a demand for separate Muslim State but rather many States.

In the famous 1930 Allahabad address Dr Muhammad Iqbal didn't envisage a separate,independent Muslim State,but an autonomous region comprising North-Western part of India under British tutelage.

So I recommend this enlightened book to all my friends in this group who are zealous for knowing the true spirit of our national history.

Our history has been twisted and distorted.
It is our collective responsibility to tackle this issue and educate our younger generation the real worth of history.

History is a discipline,it is not a concoction.

History is our identity,it is not an instrument of propaganda.

Read your history unbiasedly.
