Attention Artists and Musicians! This new Steemit update is our chance to make a difference!

in #painting7 years ago (edited)

Now is our chance to get original content trending and change the face of steemit forever!

With the new update of Steem your votes are more powerful, but most of your voting power will be gone after only 10 votes. If we all use our votes wisely then creators have an opportunity to grow and have a bigger opportunity to get their awesome content to the trending and hot pages.

Steemit provides an amazing resource for creators to earn, but it's very difficult to be noticed and there's a lot of bad advice out there. Don't cheat. Don't beg for followers (you'll get bad followers anyway). Don't use auto-voting systems. Don't upvote trending posts, unless you support the content (your rewards are reduced for these anyway). Connect and collaborate and help make steemit into a place filled with life and creativity.

I believe that creators should be paid simply to create.

Read that again. Everyone complains that cartoons are not as good as they used to be and that documentaries are boring, but good content takes time and effort and the skills of many talented people to prepare. Often the creators have to work full time jobs to make their amazing artwork and music and animation and video in their spare time.

We creators believe in our art. We fund our own projects and often we work hard for no pay, simply because we love what we do. Creators will continue to create but without support, they cannot last forever.

If you're an artist, be an art critic as well! If you're an aspiring film director, don't just post your short film and wait for the money to roll in. Go out and actively spend your time looking for other filmmakers and discuss techniques and connect with them on collaborations. Now, with the new Steemit update, you can make an even bigger impact on the community.

From now on, be careful with your votes!

Your votes are now far more powerful, but they drain your power four times faster, so use them wisely and support other creators so that we can all share in each other's success. Make sure you only upvote and resteem content that deserves a spotlight.

Every creator has a responsibility to upvote and resteem only high quality original content. We can't expect support from the community if we're not willing to support each other.

Think very carefully about how many followers you have. Make sure you get supportive followers. If you can get a lot of them, perhaps from a big network on another social media site, then fantastic! Most of us need to grow a good group of active followers. The numbers will come in time and they will engage with you and give you a more rewarding experience on steemit.

A hundred good followers is better than a thousand bad ones.

Thank you for reading and thank you to all the amazing creators that I've met on Steemit and who inspired my blog, It's awesome that I've made it to 10 blogs already. Your communication and support is noticed and appreciated and I know who I will be using my votes for.

Help me find the best original content on Steem!

Tell me about your favorite original content creators:

I'm looking for new Art, Video, Music, Cartoons, etc and I'll try to feature as many artists as possible from the comments section

Originality is the most important criteria, so for example, I'm unlikely to feature photography or cryptocurrency related content because there is already a lot of that.

Please comment, upvote, follow and resteem and I'll keep delivering solid original content to your feeds. @deimus

Love this! I'm a musician so I think this is more important than ever

Yeah, definitely, my sister, @edenmichelle is a musician and producer and a whole lot of other artists have joined steam - check out @danshaw and @owenkay as well.

@drewley - would you like your music to be featured in an article. @deimus has been featuring artists

Nice one brother! Using my power on you

Thanks, bro! It's an exciting time to be on steemit!

Another great post @deimus - proud of you

Thanks, it's been a really fun week with lots of great artwork!

Nice post @deimus!! Well worth the upvote!!

Thanks @starkerz, it's been awesome working on the D5 videos with you and @patrickm! Exciting times.

An amazing message.
I have noticed that indeed people upvote on autopilot and go for the trending posts, there will always be those people. But it's enough if we can even support each other in between. The hard fork is one side also a bad thing, because now I am not able to give equal support back to everyone and at the same time support great talents that i discover.
hopefully the 500 SP and the slider will help with that :)
Great post!

Honestly, your response means far more to me than a big upvote. It's not all about how much your upvote is worth or how much support you're giving. If a few people (not bots!) take the time to read my blog and maybe learn something new or find a new artist to support, then I consider the blog a success. Comments make a successful post, not upvotes.

Thank you for your supporting other artists and thank you for posting your beautiful artwork on steem.

nice one @deimus, unfortunately, i feel with these updates, musicians, and artists are going to be pushed even further away. The trending posts on steemit are either motivational mumble jumbo or everyone speaking about one experience or another.

Time will tell, but I'm optimistic for now. Most creators aren't trying to make millions, they just need enough money to pay the bills and free up their time so they can make content their full-time job. Hopefully that's something that's possible with steemit.

yeah, i optimism is what keeps most going

Great content bro!
Thanks for sharing @deimus

Hmm i actually don't really get all this :D
I came here to spread my stuff, realized that there are so many awesome people here. And suddenly I already made 30 Euros by doing something that i like.
Is this heaven? ^^

Thanks for the post btw. I think I should to do some more research on how all this works.. Anyway I'll follow you :)
Greetings and good vibes

Yeah there are good times ahead. I'm blogging for artists and musicians, so if there's anything you want to me to explain, let me know and I'll include it in the next blog.
Thanks for stopping by and keep on jamming!

@deimus We should talk soon. Have you ever checked my art promotion work?

Yes definitely. I love what you're doing on facebook, welcome to the community, you're going to do well!

Hey @sharonnicholas - nice to see you on this platform. Looking forward to seeing you and your artists on here

Thank you @EdenMichelle I love social media, it's easy to connect with ppl with the same passions. Why not get paid to do what comes naturally?
