In response to @jerrybanfield I have used your tag "oursteem".

This is what I have been up to since joining the platform.

I Bought a total of £1127.98 worth of Bitcoin over multiple buys, which I then converted to Steem.

I paid a total of £60.30 in fees to Coinbase to do this conversion. I find this exceedingly expensive so If anyone knows a cheaper way please let me know.

I bought a SteemFest Ticket at 193 Steem / $212.30 / £160.86

At the current market value of 1.1 my account is worth $1270.40 which is £961.85 ( would be £1122.71 before the Steemfest ticket)

So that is a ROI of

Annoyingly, 80% of this article is missing!??? I spent like 2 hrs on it. Sorry Im not willing to re-write it. If anyone knows a way to retrieve it please let me know as it did go live in full and was fine.

Ash thank you for doing so much for Steem and taking your time to share it here! I am excited to meet you at Steemfest!

When I write my posts, I back them up with Airtable while I do it as explained at https://steemit.com/steemsecrets/@jerrybanfield/backup-steem-posts-in-airtable-13 because sometimes the post does not go through right which can cause it all to be lost!

@jerrybanfield Hey Jerry, just want to thank you for the course I did on StackSkills! You helped me get on board as a Witness server @stuwhisson - would be delighted if you could do me favour and upvote my server... please, pretty please! :)

I am intrigued to know what was in the other 80%.

The plot thickens. Tune in, same time, same place next week...

I had the same thing happen last night. Hit the post button and the whole blog vanished?
I rewrote it as it was important because it was the day in Cambridge with @starkerz
Making a $5 loss roi in the short term isn't a problem as such. Remember the steem you hold is affected by the market price which fluctuates.
Long term it could go anywhere.

Ditto on the exchange costs. Way to expensive if we want mass adoption.
EOS should solve that issue.

Great Post very informative about Steem, I'm kinda intrigued about the other 80% like @pennsif too haha !!

Looks to me, you started with £1187 and now you have £1122. So I would dispute with you that the loss was only $5. I would include the fees, for that is a cost of doing things. It is around 4 or 5% loss. A business can take months or years to make a profit.
