This pic is ORIGINAL PIC OF me sitting at the edge of Ganga river in front of LAKSHMAN JHULA IN RISHIKESH, which is found in the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand. It is the holly city in india. Its sightseeing includes visiting famous the places in and around Rishikesh.Holy city of Rishikesh in Uttarakhand is home to various tourist attractions. A place where divinity and nature combine and give the choicest of experiences, it seeks to be a perfect abode for people seeking piety, tranquility and wisdom.
LAKSHMAN JHULA. An iron bridge over the quietly Ganges offers splendid views of the whole station around it. Its total length is 140 meters. It is a 450 feet long hanging bride built across the mighty Ganga River at a height of 70 feet. The bridge is known to be of mythological importance and is connected with great Hindu epic, Ramayana. If legends are to be believed the bridge is named after Lakshman, the brother of Lord Rama. It is said that he had crossed the river from same spot using a long jute rope. Till 1924, the bridge was still a rope bridge that was washed away in floods. Later on, a bridge was constructed here, which was opened for public use in 1939
