Is the elitist controlled media softening up on Trump?

Watching CNN lately, it seems to be softening up on attacking Trump. Earlier had panels of 5-6 "experts and analysts" who all attacked Trump left and right. But nowadays see a couple of them actually supporting him. And some taking a more moderate stance.

What's happening? My best guess, the Muller investigation on Russia collusion has come to a dead end, and with Rudi Guliani in, the Stormy Daniels controversy is just going to go away, and Trump is soon, just before mid term elections, gonna walk away with a North Korea peace deal and probably a China trade deal. Already, this president is having his all time high public approval ratings. Actually better than Obama at this time in presidency I heard. CNN wouldn't want to lose viewership naturally as well as by being attacked by Trump mercilessly.

Ultimately, someone gonna pay the price for all this drama and show put up for us political entertainment viewers. And I think that's going to be James Comey!
