# GOOD LEADERS! GOOD FOLLOWERS

​The problem of Africa is leadership. Africa needs good and visionary leaders who will take their followers to the promise land. This means such a leader must be proactive in all human and economic endeavours. The leader must take charge and be on top of situation in all ramifications because he is the number one person the followers expect to champion the vision and mission of his administration.
​In our country today, our leaders must not focus on position, privilege and power but they should ensure that they render services to their followers in order to make their lives better. Leadership is all about influence. When you provide good services it’s mandatory for you to have a good follower. According to John .C. Maxwell’’ A leader must follow the law of addition and law of picture’’. The law of addition means adding value by serving others while the law of the picture means people do what they see. Many a times, our leaders in the helm of affairs make laws that would benefit their not the one that will have direct impact on the lives of the common man in the society.
​However, our society is witnessing chaos and kidnapping today together with other vices like insurgency as a result of the poor leadership style of our political gladiators who have failed in their responsibilities to safeguard the lives and property of the citizens.
​With the current killings and kidnapping committed along the major roads in the country, it seems that the leadership style of the head of the captain is weak, dogmatic and less proactive in handling security matter. To this end, it would be difficult, if not impossible to have the support of the followers in the country.
​A good administrator should be able to put in place all the plans that will help his administration succeed. In fact, a good leader who desires good followers must be focused in providing good governance to his followership. At least, such a leader must ensure that he has faith in himself and takes advice in order for him to pilot the affairs of his administration with all the attributes considered above, a leader who wants to succeed in the course of his tenure must possess a good attitude and integrity that would propel him to perform ultimately.
