The problem with pageants and Samantha Katie James

Here are posts sent out by the 2017 Miss Malaysia Universe. She has since released a half-assed non-apology and the local pageant says it's "not possible" of them to strip her of her title. So I am guessing she is still proud of her "radical" statements. Like many local pageants, she has Chinese/Indian heritage mixed with other foreign ethnicities. I believe she's Brazilian on her father's side.

Local pageants prioritize on 5'5" tall, 25" waisted, high femme cis-woman models, as opposed to looking at intelligent people who pursue the fight for equality, be it in class, race, gender, etc. Instead we get air like Samantha Katie James who run their ignorant mouths. The stereotype of pageant queens announcing "world peace" means nothing when people like Samantha gets to cash in her diamond encrusted crown and reveal her true colours as a racist troll.
