I Hate To Say It But Peoples Priorities Are F Up

If there is no better case then the recent destruction of Notre Dame fire. We can clearly see how F up the world really is and what people seem to care about more.

With all the media attention on the Notre Dame fire it seems wealthy people including some in crypto have taken up the idea to donate massive amounts of money to rebuilding it.

I get it its an important part of history but don't forget the Catholic Church is one of the wealthiest organizations already in the world.

As of yesterday the fund to rebuild it reached over 700 million dollars.

This is MUCH more then the cost of actually rebuilding it.

I don't know about you but that money could be used to do so much more good for so many more people. It just goes to show you the vast majority of people with wealth care more about property and buildings then they do about people.

I am sure this is a sensitive topic but one I wanted to put it out there as cases such as this honestly turn my stomach and really make me question people.

Perhaps the donated money will be used for someone good I can only hope and time will tell.

well... That explains it

A lot of those donations come as an emotional knee jerk response to the loss of an icon, beloved by many. But its their money. If they want to put it all in big stack and light it afire, its their business as far as I am concerned.

I have known people who have lost a lot of money gambling, on cocaine and high dollar prostitutes. So one could do worse than fixing up a church I suppose.

Agreed their money their choice. Just makes you step back for a moment and wonder how these people think and what their priorities in life are.

A problem for me is how much money gets donated to charities but never makes it to the end of the line. If you look at any of the big charities here in ireland, they have offices in a very expensive area with huge numbers of staff on big wages. Only about 10% of the money donated actually gets used where they say it will.
We have a massive homeless crisis here and yet there are lots of resources for the homeless. A lot of families can't pay the rent but nobody works and they rely on welfare. There are a lot of issues here but money isn't the biggest problem. Is is only a part of it.
The same goes for Africa with all its poverty. Huge amounts of money is given in aid but there is so much corruption at government level that nothing will ever get fixed. Until the countries are ran legitimately then they will continue to suffer.

That is very true same thing here in the USA at least 50% gets gobbled up in fees etc before it reaches the end.

So you’re saying we shouldn’t donate a trillion? 🤣 The pope can just sell his Lambos?

Out of site out of mind, the media focus is where people spend their money it’s why attention has become such a prized commodity especially online
