Si eres de otro país te preguntarás ¿quién es el tío Simón? Simón Díaz fue un músico, humorista y poeta emblemático del folclor venezolano, ganador del Grammy Latino de trayectoria, quien dedicó su vida a cantarle al llano y al amor.

Estuvimos intentando grabar un cover decente para compartir con todos ustedes como por tres semanas. El primero, no se pudo postear porque no nos convencía la iluminación y de paso, para ese momento tenía semerenda alergia. El segundo, tampoco se pudo postear porque el internet no funcionaba. La tercera es la vencida y no saben lo importante que es para mí que por fin sí haya quedado bonito y que el internet funcione (thanks a lot Cantv).

Agradezco muchísimo la compañía de Lenin –y sus dotes de multinstrumentista-. El primer intento lo grabamos con su armónica, pero luego nos dimos cuenta que quedaría mejor con el acordeón y así fue –o al menos eso creemos-.

Esta es quizá, mi canción por años luz, favorita del tío Simón. Tonada de luna llena es una suave brisa que nos lleva a las noches en los llanos venezolanos, donde los grillos retumban con su canto y el Arauca arrulla el cielo despejado.

If you’re from another country, you'll ask: who is el Tío Simón? Simón Díaz was a musician, humorist and poet emblematic of venezuelan folklore, winner of the Latin Grammy of trajectory, who dedicated his life to sing to our country and love.

We were trying to record a decent cover to share with you for about three weeks. The first, couldn’t be posted bc we weren't convinced by the lighting, and I had an allergy. The second, couldn’t be posted bc the internet didn’t work. This is the third and you don’t know how important it’s for me.

I appreciate Lenin's company - and his multi-instrumentalist skills-. The first attempt we recorded with his harmonica, but then we realized that it would be better with the accordion.

This is maybe, my favorite song –by light years- of el Tío Simón. Tonada de luna llena is a gentle breeze that takes us to the nights in the venezuela, where the crickets resound with their song and the Arauca lulls the clear sky.
