Open Mic Songwriters Challenge Week 5 - My top 5 Selection
I suspected this week's theme was going to lead us down that path of inner search, I for one could not help but to think of all the things I miss, the times long gone, and those special memories that mix inside my heart and mind in a blend of joy and pain.
I want to extend my deepest thank you to those songwriters who had the courage, the strength to be vulnerable this week. In more than one instance I felt so connected to the song, I felt the words to be my own. Words of gratitude fall short, but I will say them once again... thank you.
I have to say I was pretty blown away by this song, the lyrics were absolutely fantastic and the melody sucked you in as if didn't care if you had any plans for the day. @luisferchav might be one of the newest Steemians on the musical block, but there is nothing amateurish about this man's talent.
This young musical Steemian is a musical force to be reckoned with, he has been out for most of the challenge but this week he decided to make up for it with an amazing entry, as well as uploading all the other songs he had written for the previous weeks. I will let him explain on the video, but boy, what a great tune, and the fact that his voice is still raspy makes it even better to my ears. I feel the emotion at another level!
What a treat to listen to this song, beautiful melody, beautiful lyrics to go along with a beautiful voice. It's my hope @kayclarity continues to participate of the challenge. The melodic lines in the middle of the song had me whistling around the house for a whole day. That is when you know you got a good hook.
There is a particular style of music that really speaks to my soul, if you are familiar with Troba and their biggest representatives, you will definitely feel connected to this entry by @wilins. Absolutely beautifully crafted lyrics, along with an emotional performance full of dynamics. Knowing the situation in Venezuela, reading these lyrics... man... I had goosebumps almost the whole way thru.
Last weeks entry was just as beautiful as this one, I'm a sucker for heartfelt soft music. There are those days when life plays along to this kind of tune. @afrao0 's entry spoke to me, as if I had written it myself many years ago. I sincerely hope he takes me up on getting his originals produced and recorded.

We have already started week six my friends, and I can't wait to see/hear what songs my favorite Steemians will come up with, if by any chance you are reading this, and thinking to yourself its too late to participate, let me tell you this is not the case. We have worked out a way so that new participants can actually have a chance at the price, even if they come in the middle of the contest, more details to come.

Brother, I am not exaggerating when I say that it is my only sustenance now. Soon I will emigrate from the country and what I gather in my publications is what I am using to eat and be able to gather. I do not appreciate the initiative and the beautiful way in which they do it.

Hey Kay, it's supposed to tell you... like right on your avatar icon on the top right, but it has not been working lately. In any case you could download a chrome extension called "Steemit for Info" and it will give you all that you will ever need, I promise.
