Forgive me for getting this out a day late this week. I had to hook up with my friend @anomadsoul who was here for one day only before blasting off to Russia for the World Cup. I thought I'd get back home in time to post this yesterday but then we had some beers and our arms got twisted into drinking Tequila and, well, you know. We ended up getting completely twisted.

I guess I could sit here and attempt to describe Coco's Talent, I could, but I would probably fail. There is a certain texture on her voice that you can't help but to get drawn into. This is not the first entry of hers that I absolutely love, not at all, this is just a continuation of her little legacy with the openmic.

"Without a doubt, this was sung even better than Sia herself. It takes a lot for a cover to hit my number 1 spot but this was so easy. I have listened now half dozen times with goosebumps up and down my arms. What a voice. One of the best vocalists we have seen on openmic. Exciting!! I think @p4ragon might have let the cat out of the bag with her forthright honesty in clearly explaining her use of “Smule,” a popular karaoke app, in putting together her entry. Had she not been so honest in her post description, I suspect her stunning vocal performance would have gone under the radar like many other entrants. Fret not, however, as our grandmaster @luzcypher clearly noted that there are exceptions in accepting one’s voice as their artistic instrument, and @p4ragon’s outstanding rendition of “Elastic Heart” was clearly one such exception. Dang, not only can this girl can sing – but she feels it so good - and with such passion – that she simply could not be ignored! Bravo, girlfriend! - @passion-ground
So what is going on this week? Is this the week of the crazy good vocalists? I must confess up until now I had never heard this particular song or any entries from @p4ragon. So when I clicked on her video I was instantly blown away. It took 30 seconds to know she would be placing on my top list this week. - @meno
NOTE: The focus of Open Mic has always been about building a community of musicians on Steemit. Nornally we don't allow Karaoke entries and give priority to people who play musical instruments. There are exceptions, however, when someone sings exceptionally well and this is clearly one of those performances. I mean, listen to her. If you don't have goosebumps listening to her sing you don't have a pulse. Beautiful voice and can't stop listening to it over and over again. - @luzcypher

Darren’s lyrical take on the old axiom, “do as I say, not as I do,” in “Breathe,” is written with his children in mind, whom he obviously loves dearly. The garden setting, the brilliant drive of his magical guitar playing, the soothing melodies, and the birds singing back-up make for quite the perfect stage! Though Darren is certainly a community favorite and is well-cast as an esteemed member within the “The Cream of the Crop,” I just couldn’t find anyplace else better suited to rank this wonderful and loving song. - @passion-ground
Another beautiful heartfelt song by Darren. At this point I don't know how many of his tunes I like, we might be talking about dozens and this is no exaggeration. I think this song spoke to me because even though I don't have children myself, I've also been one that has had many blunders and I wish I could somehow help someone else not make them.
It's that little need or desire to spare someone of the pain, all wrapped up in the vessel of a beautiful little song. - @meno

Wow – this song was written in 1899 when fewer than 10% of U.S. households had a telephone! The Chordette’s released their version of the song in 1954, and though this was way before my time, through older films that included performers such as the Andrews Sisters, today, I can reminisce with utter joy in recalling this type of music throughout my early youth. @belenlopr’s creative production and rendition of this classic blast from a long-gone past is nothing short of spectacular! From costume to props, she made this entry a very special experience for all – no matter what their age! Her vocal harmonies are exquisite as are the subtle audio shifts tracking the retro black & white footage with the full-color footage. Simply wonderful! - @passion-ground
