RE: Steemit Open Mic Week 90 | Florida Girl - Original Song | @daily-musings
When I was a teenager, my parents, brother and I did visit the Florida coast. Until then, I had not walked on a beach when its tide was out and where the water usually goes.
Looking towards the sky and away from the shore felt like being in the wet desert of another world. Thank you for having brought me back to those halcyon days.
So much about your music is memorable to me. Often, it has made mine heart to feel like the kittenish cat that hath becometh mesmerized.
I hope to pick up my guitar from the shop, later today. The fellow who restored it said that it is a Harmony guitar from the early 1950s.
I've had it for many years but never knew its age; only that its sound doth suiteth my style. That is what I'm playing whilst singing my "Shipwreck'd Desires" sonnet, which I recently posted.
From one artist to another: I feel happy for you, that your work as an artist doth speaketh for itself and is establishing an audience here. Methinks that slowly but surely is the best way so that the rush which comes with being famous doth not overwhelm; though that is not necessarily within anybody's control—and perhaps in some strangely beautiful ways, that too be for the best.
Having said that, I suppose even the most talented of us can benefit from having a slew of loyal and supportive friends (including sneezing puppies) that are each accepting towards us, not only whenever we are in the midst of experimenting or practicing something unprecedented—and perhaps not yet once again at our best—but also for when acclimatizing to th'unexplored atmosphere of a newfound success.
There is also something to be said for a community of musicians having an appreciation for talking shop by means of our discussing and debating in a civil and scholarly manner with one another about the kind of criticism that is limited to th'objective side of Music—such as when teaching ourselves and each other about the different schools of music theory along with any instructive anecdotes from music history.
Thanks for sharing your story about your time on the Florida coast :) I agree that the Steemit platform is a great platform for building up the musician community. Also, I find it the perfect spot to share music in a more authentic and unpolished way, as I still practice on improving and finding my sound.
Thanks for listening!
