🎶 Open Mic Week 111 - My Top 5 Judges Selection 🎶
So here we are at week 111 of Open Mic and this week we honour a talented and loyal Open Mic'er @miguelblanco, who sadly passed away, this week we remember his contributions and dedication to Open Mic - he never missed a single week since joining us .
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and loved ones - he will be missed.
I'm just going to leave it at that this week, I'd rather you go and watch some of his entries than read my ramblings - so here is my judges top 5 picks for Open Mic week 111.
This week's top 5:
1st Place - @ingridkorneelia - Diamonds & Demons
Just a massive and unrelenting wow lovely, you have such an incredible voice - the control, range and power... just breathtakingly stunning.
You have the most amazingly sweet high notes, it's almost harmonic - or for lack of a better work angelic!
Now I was just blown away that you and @chaifm and @melavie all know each other O_O , I dare to dream big here.... but is there any way we can hear the three of you all performing together, that would just be truly phenomenal!
I am just so in love with your voice, it is stunning and you know just how to use it - just utterly incredible in every way imaginable.
I really hope to keep seeing and hearing that incredible voice, what an absolutely brilliant performance!
2nd Place - @chaifm - Quiet Glory
Firstly yay :D stoked to see you back again, gifting us with your stunning voice and amazing music once more - it has been too long, but it's brilliant to have you join us once more.
Also I had no idea you and @melavie knew @ingridkorneelia, lmao it makes sense now I know - you all have such amazing and unique sounds that I just can't get enough of!
I'm so happy to hear you have been working on an EP that's fantastic, if it has anything like what you just performed in this entry - I'm sure it will be a success, I know I'd love to hear it when it's completed :D
You really have a captivating voice and feel when you perform, you feel the music and words and present them to a listener in a brilliant way - I loved this song and this entry, I hope to see more from you soon.

3rd Place - @addiesworld - Shallow
Oh how I've missed you lovely, even when your only gone a little while I still long to hear your kick ass voice - and this week you of course didn't let us down (plus now I have to watch a movie too... :P).
I really like this song choice for you, I'm not familiar with it yet - but it's a nice mix to get to hear your lower range in more depth and colour, but then you slam dunk with those killer high power notes.
You never cease to blow me away with your brilliance lovely, you have an amazing gift and I am always thrilled when you share it - I love hearing the versatility of your voice, you are just brilliant in every way :D
4th Place - @k0wsk1 - Someday You Will Be Loved
You are really taking things to a whole new level lately, it's been so awesome to go on this journey with you - I am totally addicted to your flawless vocals, just totally captivating and really, truly amazing.
Your playing is precise and really perfect, you keep a brilliant balance between the guitar and your vocals - it allows the audience to not only hear the melody but the lyrics as well, it's crucial and you have this mastered.
I am becoming a massive fan of your work, your song choices is always perfection - just like your performance's of them.
Hope to keep seeing you joining us here at Open Mic, I love having you share your music and hope to hear more soon.
5th Place - @drewley - Chasing Cars
I absolutely loved this entry, what a brilliant performance here @drewley - not to mention those killer harmonies, you both smashed it.
I am also loving you doing a public entry, hearing the crowd in the background and you still intro'ed it properly - just all round an awesome entry and performance.
Loved hearing you sing again man, I really enjoy your solo piano compositions - but hearing you sing while you play is just kick ass, keep it up and look forward to more soon!

Everyone involved in Open Mic or a fan of some of our amazingly talented entrants, should know about the Songwriters Shoptalk - it's a radio show that @meno and I co-host on a weekly basis.
During our two hour show we interview amazing musicians on Steemit, we play some of their original music and get involved in all manner of conversations - I'm not kidding here people, some of the topics are so far from the realm of music I often wonder how we got there.
It's an amazing show and I am thrilled to be a part of it, we have an amazing time each and every week - not to mention we share some amazing music and get to know some of the faces behind the tunes.

Open Mic's New Discord Server:
I'd like to officially welcome you all to the new Open Mic Discord server, we have been open a little while now - with many of you having already joined.
But it's still a little quiet and I blame myself partly (I didn't know the world of crazy would set in just after opening it up and I just haven't been there to engage with everyone properly or promptly), I hope to remedy this in the coming weeks and months with some big plans we have in the works.
For now it's very hush hush, as plans are finalised and things evolve - you a can be sure you guys will hear all about it.
In the meantime however, there are heaps of amazing musicians already on there - it's a tool and you guys need to use it to get full advantage.
Ask a question, request a collaboration the world is yours - hell even just go in there and play around listening to some tunes in the jukebox room!
I will be trying to make myself more available on the server as time continues, so feel free to drop by even just for a chat.

That is so beautiful to read your words, I am really touched. I nearly did not post the song, as I was feeling a bit low, and lately I am feeling like my voice is closed and throat somehow tensed. Always, a wonderful surprise to find out other people do not feel like that... :)
About our cooperations:
well there is this very rough recording of me and Ingrid singing one of my songs - this will be on the EP, recorded and produced properly :)
...and I did the music video for Ingrid's song where Mela is doing beautiful harmonies - so I am there, but not in a voice :)
I am not sure if you have seen that one, as it was not part of the openmic. I loved making this video so much - what a joy and tears and all of that.
