Steemit Open Mic Week 70: Grey (Original Song)
So, fun fact about me. I'm a little all over the place haha. When I'm happy I'm on top of the world. And when I'm sad, I'm pretty low.
I feel like the lyrics I tend to write are kinda simple. I guess I like to take complex emotions and present them in a non cryptic, easy, and truthful way.
That being said, here is my entry for this weeks open mic (ahem, best open mic ever, ahem)
And yes, grey is actually my favorite color.

Very cool. Though I was stuck wondering whether or not "grey" is technically a color... So I found this:
"Grey (British English) or gray (American English; see spelling differences) is an intermediate color between black and white. It is a neutral or achromatic color, meaning literally that it is a color 'without color. It is the color of a cloud-covered sky, of ash and of lead" (Wiki)
Which is what I kind of guessed--a "color without color." That's sort of fascinating.. Grey (I went to grade school in England, leave me alone) is the mixture of both all the colors and the absence of them. It's like the "perfect medium;" a harmony, if you will, of presence and absence. Which is kind of strange if you think about the fact that "grey" is typically associated with being "drab," "dull," "mundane;" sort of "negative" traits--whereas, it is technically the "most perfect" color.

Yeap, this is a solid song. A good piece of songwriting from you. I'm really liking the Grey is my favourite colour hook with the little repeats.
"Colour" could also repeat, ascending in melody "Colour Colour Colour, grey is my favourite colour..." Into that sort of ending part or a bridge sec. Just to reenforce the hook even more.
A lot of these tunes would make good electronic dance songs, if you collaborated with a thoughtful composer/producer who knows their shit.
