A very old song, resurrected for the new album I’m working on. Debbie and Jasmine were over, recording strings for this tune, and since we got done early, I asked them if they’d like to record a quick, live performance video. So happy they said yes! (We even added some harmonies to the audio afterward!) 😀

Written from the perspective of someone struggling with an addiction or vice, (perhaps someone immersed in the entertainment or similar industry) this song is about letting go of what you cannot control. Coming to terms with the fact that nothing around you can change for the better until you first change yourself. Becoming the best possible versions of ourselves, battling our own demons, acknowledging and taking responsibility for our faults & mistakes, and then taking steps to improve. That is all we ever truly have control of.

In I’m Going Home, “home” is a metaphor for one’s SELF. Looking in the mirror, and getting to the root cause. You, yourself, homebase, the foundation of your life. If the foundation is not strong, the structure you’ve built, no matter how beautiful or wonderful, will crumble.
