charity run
If you would like to create and manage a project you have to know exactly what its goal will be. Let’s use a charity run as an example, a very popular event in these last years. Its aim is not only a healthy way for participants to raise money for a good cause, but also a very visible way of publicising your charitable cause to the community.
Step 1: Define outcome and assign tasksWhen the project is clear and you have determined the desired outcome, you can start to outline each of the project’s component tasks and the resources that you need. Considering the charity run, you should firstly choose a route. It will play a central role in other decisions you make concerning resources as staff size, security and transportation. Moreover, since it’s a charity event you should be as inclusive as possible, involving people of all ages. But the route is not the only thing: also safety, transportation, resources and legalities of a Charity Run are important points that have to be considered.Step 2: Identify the players and spread the news.Who can participate in this kind of project (internal or external persons) and who can be the competitors? In this case the main participants can be local people who are living close to the location where the run takes place; but for finding them you have to spread the news about the event. You can use traditional marketing such as post, TV, radio, newspaper advertisements (not always you can afford it) or free marketing channels such as Facebook, Twitter and all social media that is ideal for creating a buzz about your charity event.Step 3: Create a timeline. In our case study the deadline is the day of the run. Until that day you should be really busy collecting contact information, entry fees, and fundraising commitments from people who want to participate and keeping them motivated. Most of these events use an integrated online event management system that allows them to build a custom online registration form, link that form to the website and collect participant contact data online. Ideally, you would also collect payment online during the registration process.Step 4: Leave room for improvement! When everything is planned, the last step is to review your project and, if needed, make amendments to it, according to any last minute unexpected difficulties or complications.Step 5: Get FeedbackAfter the charity run, you could already be thinking about the next event and send those who registered a follow-up email in which you offer a discounted rate. Another important thing to do would be to send an online survey to your participants and ask them what they liked and what can be improved for next event. This feedback is extremely valuable and will help you to monitor your project and to generate new ideasfor the next.
Actions speak louder than words. I think doing a group charity tag would not only be a noble good-hearted deed...but it would be an added bonus if there's press coverage that comes about from this good deed. It could shed light on the nature of the community on this platform.
Great idea. I have been thinking about this as I would like to give a percentage of my posts to a charity of my choice. I volunteer at a homeless shelter and would like to kick a percentage of it to them but how can I prove that the money actually went to the shelter? Maybe an escrow system like people use when trading services for bitcoin? Your proposal is interesting and this may help people interact more with others if they know a percentage is going to charity. Marking to see where this goes.
Charity is very important. There are so many people around me who need help. And I want to help them. I see the realization of my ideas in this way:
You will be able to attract your organization in STEEM, and to transfer them money.
I sugest that you use money that you got here to help that charity, with all transparent things like recipts and take lots of proof. Then post your story and see how people react to it. Its wounderfull idea to help someone but we should do it ourslefs and then others will hopefully follow our steps.
In a previous post, I received the following feedback:

@jennamarbles- I really like this idea and also what @roelandp suggested, to write specific posts centering on a specific project. I'd be more than happy to do research and write my own post about a specific project and donate all proceeds from that post directly to the project/organization.

Dear Jenna, you must be a fantastic woman to start this charity idea! I do not completely understand the full extent, it seems you want to change the business model of things no?
I think that will not be possible however you could for example start a 'charity post' which will garner funds for those in need.
What I find one of the best attractive ways to donate is to actually know where my money is going... Micro-donating to specific projects so to say... Therefore... Why not start a blogging series every X (week / month / bi-weekly) where you shed a light on a specific cause...
Alternatively you could start a new user account and announce that people can donate (part of) their revenue to it... For example pledge that you give away X%. This would mean you need to setup a foundation I guess (I am not in the US)...
Anyhow, anyway, great ideas!
i’d rather want to open up new possibilities for further development of the "STEEM". I'm not in the USA, and therefore, I will not be able to manage the funds efficiently. Thus, I want this account (general fund) to be in the hands of the administration of the "STEEM". That would be a good protection not only from hacker attacks but also from the fraud of some people. People can apply for help to this fund through the hashtags #openheart and #openmind. The collected funds from my post would be the first payment to these funds of kindness and mutual help.
I would love to hear more! can't wait til they have the pm feature so i can give people my email addy!
I'm glad to hear it, but not everyone agrees with us apparently, but I believe that my initiative will resonate in the hearts of others
In steem they use the principle of "sweat equity". So the more you work in the ecosystem and the more steempower you (and your supportive friends) gain, the more you will be able to help your efforts further.
Now with that said, I would love if you would join us and talk about it this friday at the beyondbitcoin hangout :)

I'm trying to contact the developers, but I can't find a way.
check out the steem slack page :)
Hey, try and contact their facebook page, I had good results :)
I wrote to them, but I think I need more support...
I see that no one is interested. It's sad.
Steemit crowdfunding? Okay this is new. Looking forward to the results.
The other social platforms have tons of charity/social works initiatives and so should we! I'm sure the steemit hive mind can come up with the best ideas yet!
Very cool idea!
Thank you! I hope the development of this idea will open more opportunities STEEM
beautifully done...lol
Great post, good job ;-)
Thank you for your support
WOW! I could raise money for my project?
potentially :)
Excellent idea!
See all the things OTHER social media stole from us?
You have all been Fuzzybombed because I LOVE this idea and it is important we show everyone the power of sharing with one another in this world. For so long our economic foundation was stolen from us and twisted to the ends of those who do not have our best interests at heart. Now WE can control our own economy on steem (and see what we were missing out on for all this time---a real free market economy.
Exactly dude, I know it sounds cheesy...but steemit has sort of renewed my faith in the world.
I feel like i'm in control of my own destiny, and not just a puppets being played for the global elite.
i'm sick of working 9 to 5 drained doing pointless jobs that add no quality to my life but only allow me to survive.
Now I don't have to cause thanks to Steemit I can survive off ONE DAYS EARNINGS!!!
lol got a tear in my eye as I write this but seriously....I think this is going to change so many peoples lives for the better.
Thanks for the fuzzy bomb and helping steemit thrive~!
I like how you think
