13 years, is that when you opened for business? Is it publicly traded, do employees have stock options?

Would it be considered social like public affairs/fashion? Marketing type with phone work and promoting involved? Is it popular, like, is your competition tough or are you a rare business?

Do you pay pay your employees’ unemployment insurance? Can your employees work from home? Is it hand work such as crafty/sewing type work?

(this is fun)

Whatever it is, 9 employees is impressive. Good for you, @anonymity5, congratulations. In case you haven’t heard it lately, you should be proud of yourself.

Actually my husband began one of the businesses before we got married ( we got married about 19 years ago) ... but then he started on some new projects and I took over the company..... the second company I opened about 13 years ago...it’s not publicly traded and employees do not have stock options .

Absolutely not social in that sense, although I do have to do a lot of networking and go to a lot of fundraisers / networking events to get more business .

In NYC it can be a little tough ( the competition ) , but I can’t see it being in such high demand in more suburban areas, especially in smaller towns.

Yes I pay their unemployment insurance. I’m the only one in the company to work from home , although my office manager considers answering emails on the weekends , working from home . Lol.

No , not crafty ( although I do love that crafty stuff and hate when I don’t have time to work on crafty projects I start lol ).

With the exception of 3-4 people in the office . The rest are all out on the field on a daily basis.

🤔 Given the choice of your profile name, I would assume that your happy to keep those things under raps.

Employee management is an art in itself. I’ve been a General Manager of a rapidly expanding company for several years now. My biggest challenge, hands down, is employee hiring, retention, and babysitting (lol). Employees can make or break a company. I could write a book on what I’ve seen, as I am sure you could. My employer has approached me several times about purchasing the business.. all I do is laugh and take a sip of coffee. 🤭😉😁
