We give meaning and effect to the words we invoke. Likewise, we are fully capable of controlling the effect any word has on us despite the fact that we are trained to react in certain ways to certain words in certain contexts within certain cultures and doctrines. Whatever the word, we give it meaning and power either through our processing and reaction, either on auto pilot mode or on a fully conscious mode - that is the decision we are faced with.
