It has always been through agriculture where most of the people in rural places of my country (Philippines) support themselves. Agriculture holds a great part and role when in comes to Philippines history. Agriculture back then was a number one source of living of my ancestors. And even until the time when the Philippines started to adopt industrialized economy, still, agriculture is always part of Philippines culture. In fact, different agricultural festivals is all over the Philippines yearly. And this only proves that agriculture has been and will always be part of every Filipino. Here are some examples of Agricultural Festival which every Filipino continuously celebrate.
●Bambanti Festival every month of February in Isabela province (Scarecrows and harvest festival)
●Tibagba Festival every 11 in the month of February in Bicol, Iriga City (Harvest Festival)
●Mahaguyog Festival every 24 in the month of February to March 7 in Sto. Tomas, Batangas (celabrates the abundance of mais, halaman, gulay and niyog)
●Strawberry Festival every month of March in La Trinidad, Benguet (Strawberries and strawberry products)
●Mango Festival every 19 to 24 in the month March in Iba, Zambales (mangoes and its products)
●Linubian Festival every 17-19 in the month of April in Rosario, La Union (showcases harvest in the Municipality)
●Pangapog Festival every 1-7 in the month of August in Island Garden City of Samal (Thanksgiving Festival for a bountiful harvest highlighting the culture of Samal)
●Marang Festival in every 5th day of the month of August in Las Nievas Agusan del Norte (harvest festival of the fruit marang)
●Paray Festival in every 13-15th day of August in Viga, Catanduanes (rice festival)
These are just some of the many festivals celebrates by every Filipino all over the Philippines.

My grandparents owns a big farm in our hometown and I witness it myself how hard it is to raise a crops. That's why agriculture to me is not a stranger since I grew up being surrounded by a lots of farmers including my parents. Farming is not easy as what some people thinks. If we're going to look at the news on television we could witness tons of foods being wasted and thrown in plastics bins as if those were a garbage. People didn't know how much it badly hurts the feeling of our dear farmers. Staying under the heat of the sun and doing tasks on farming is not easy at all. Not wasting the foods produced by our dear farmers is also one way of showing our sympathy to them. I mean this could also be a way of showing them their value as a farmers, that we value them.

Harvest time is the time when farmers feels great delight. At last they are going to reap the fruits of their labors.

I was in my grandma's house that time. We are watching TV when suddenly I noticed that she is not around. Maybe I was so entertained by the show that I didn't get to noticed that she went out or something. I tried to look for her (by the way, it was just the two of us in the house during that time). I turned off the TV and went out. I went to the backyard and there I found grandma doing stuffs. I helped her a little and I volunteered to harvest this eggplants. While harvesting the eggplants I feel the spirit of farming inside me hahahah lolz.
