I don't feel like the owner if the place at anytime. Also it's usually not that empty, the ER is always busy and there are always in- house patients and employees .
Alone at night in the parking lot doesn't make me feel empowered more like a little scared. Luckily people come and go at about the same time.
I think I used to feel that way when I was younger and my parents went out and I was the oldest (or one of the oldest) at home.
Thats also why I like the evening shift at my job cause there's no supervisor and we do the right thing by ourselves.
Isn't it great to be alone or nearly alone in a public space like that? At least I do. I feel like the owner of the place. :)

I can understand that. What I mean is being in a place normally full of people when it is totally empty. I had such experience a few times.
