The Conscious Olympics
Every four years, the Olympic Games stir something deep inside of me. A global tribe of our talented young people — so much hope, determination, and striving for excellence. In many cases, overcoming impossible odds just to be there at all.
Last night’s opening ceremony was an engaging spectacle of sights, sounds and celebration of global diversity.
What struck me most was the emerging world consciousness - the deeper message.
Shining a strong spotlight on our past, the scar that slavery and colonization has marked upon nearly every country’s history. Addressing the effects of our actions on the Earth’s environment. Honoring the indigenous way of being.
We are ready as a world to face the reality of our past. We are also ready for healing. Last night was not just about Brazil but about our entire global society.
We are being invited to plant seeds for a more conscious way of life.
Every person on our planet has an inner spark, a reason for being, a gift to give. This is a global call for collaboration on an unprecedented scale to meet our most pressing needs. Ensuring that every person on our planet has food, clean drinking water, the security of a home, safety from violence and the human right to freedom.
It is only when we care for our basic needs that each of our sparks can be ignited and our world will be transformed.
We have the ingenuity, the technology, the passion and now the global consciousness to make this happen.
It is time to ignite your inner spark.
