The USA is producing record amounts of oil, and it appears that OPEC is not having success in their efforts to manipulate global oil prices.

When the war in Ukraine started, there was a controversial decision to draw down the US national oil reserve to combat rising prices. Now, that decision seems to be pure genius: it had the short term benefit of frustrating Putin's attempts at energy blackmail, and now it is quite clear that it will generate billions of dollars in profits.
