The Man With The Wooden Box
Have I told you……. about my self-made Parable of The Man With the Wooden Box?
What if the beggar we just sent away turned out to be The King of This Great Land? How dreadful would that be for us in the day of the great announcement.
At a time when candles lighted all houses, there was this man with a wooden box. Standing in the streets, waiting for people to pass by.
Maam Sir, would you like to know whats inside this wooden box? …….
Hey, you there with the black hat, I was wondering if you are not that busy coz something good, very good is inside this wooden box, would you like to see it? …….
Please sheriff, there is something good inside this wooden box, let me just stay here for awhile just in case a person would take a peek. Would you like to, Sir? …….
Will anyone want to see whats inside the wooden box? He said in a loud voice, unperturbed by the indifference …….
Anyone? Maam? Sir?………………… Please???
Time passed by and no one wanted to see the wooden box and take the man seriously. Rain shine, day night, seasons in and out…. No one.
So the man went home sad telling himself: “If only they just peeked they could have known what’s inside the wooden box. I’m sure it will change their lives for the better.”
When he arrived home his wife met him happily at the door along with their wonderful kids.
Put those candles out my dear wife, coz I will open the wooden box now!!!!
The wife. the kids and members of the family in the house were jumping with joy anticipating what will happen next as the wooden box is opened. Everyone so happy; the husband is home and the kids with their dad and family.
Celebration… Eating… Dancing…. Kiss and Hugs… Food and Drinks… Wife, kids and family.
And there, in the middle, is the wooden box.
Inside is an LED LIGHT, so advanced during those days as people do not even know what electricity is. So bright it illuminated the whole house. It brought joy and purpose, so much ease to everyone. The kids can ran about, the wife did many chores while the man able to do more works.
After the joyous night the man and his wife sat down at the porch. Then the man looked at their neighbors houses; gloomy and sad, dark and lonesome.
He said to his wife how I pray with a wishful thinking, that they will have this. “OH THEY WILL SEE AND UNDERSTAND THAT ONE DAY”, the wife answered in a positive note to encourage the man.
Then the man looked at his wife, and the kids, and the house. NO NO NO my dear wife, I don’t mean for the LED LIGHTS. They should have this, all of this!!!
Even in the midst of the great darkness out there, I have you and the kids. This home, this content, love and happiness. Even if they will not understand whats inside the wooden box, this happiness and love and peace……. they can.
This very bright light inside The Wooden Box made these all happen!!!
