OceanBase’s New Database Open-Source Program
Beijing -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- (U.S. Business Information) -- OceanBase, an enterprise-level distributed relational database provider, has attracted more than 21300 users and 50 institutional partners to join its open source projects within a few months of its official launch. Leading Internet companies such as Ctrip, Kwai, Meituan, and Bilibili have also joined the community.
Oceanbase, a subsidiary of Ant Group, announced the latest progress of the new project at the 2021 China Database Technology Conference (DTCC2021). During this period, its partners shared the best practices for deploying or testing its open-source technology.
The open-source community of oceanbase was officially launched on June 1, 2021. Since then, developers from around the world who have joined the community have contributed over 500 code submissions and over 600 original articles on technical practices.
Among more than 50 companies and organizations exploring the further deployment of oceanbase, Ctrip, a one-stop travel service provider listed on Nasdaq, is implementing an open-source version of OceanBase in its risk management and other business systems, and has begun testing the enterprise version.

At the OceanBase 3.0 summit in June, OceanBase announced its comprehensive open-source plan. Based on Mulan Public License Version 2 and open core mode, OceanBase has already opened up 3 million lines of core code.
OceanBase's database technology has been applied to all major businesses of Ant Group. The enterprise OceanBase database also serves many institutions, including the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Bank of Nanjing, Sinopec, China Mobile Zhejiang, etc.
