RE: OCD past HF21

in #ocd5 years ago

This does not make much sense in staying competitive vs bid bots, we all know that flags may not be used effectively in the beginning until they are more normalized and maybe start doing some damage to the bid bots that don't care.

We are also not looking to kill bid bots completely, the good ones are an asset for Steem but should focus on their business rather than reap rewards without a care daily.

If we remove accepting bids altogether then the delegated stake will just go back towards bid bots cause there they will receive 80-95% of the bids + x-x% of the curation rewards. It would be really difficult to outperform them, it already is because we give authors a guaranteed profit (although less guaranteed after HF21 due to downvotes but our vote will at least be higher than the bid when cast) while bid bots are supposed to cost the author/promoter.

Sort:

Its not about flags. Its about the economy that will potentially be set up where curation services could very possibly be competitive with bots if SPS cuts author rewards.
Thats a very specific situation where buying votes would be a costly endevour which would in turn make bot delegators to search for other options.

Curation services being one of them.

Its an option to consider once we see what hf21 does.
Its all on SPS right now to make hf21 a positive change since 50/50 does nothing on its own
