OCD has restarted Curation!
As some of you may have noticed, @ocd is back from a long break! With this post I wanted to go through some of the currenct activities of ocd and also help with any questions you might have which you can ask in the comment section afterwards!
What OCD Curators do now
The main difference from their curation from before to now is that they are specifically looking for authors that have not been curated in the past. Before this wasn't as strict but now that we have the @ocdb solution to authors who have already proven to be writing quality content for Steem and can increase their rewards with that option, we will not be curating authors again.
Currently they are curating tags free-for-all, meaning they curate the tags of their own preference. Over time, though, we are going to have specific curators that are looking into certain tags that are not being touched as much by already existing curation groups and different dapps. Bear in mind though that those using dapps that get added to the whitelist should check if the beneficiaries of the dapp make it worth buying the @ocdb votes for themselves.
Other plans for the future
We have teamed up with @welcoming curator @theaustrianguy who has been part of @ocd for a long time and will be looking into creating discounted accounts for community members that they vouch for and curating their introduction posts and adding them to a second compilation post of @ocd with a short description so that readers can easy follow them if they happen to see some newcomers they are interested in.
This will be a great use for the new RC account creation and a great way to increase our community on Steem and help them out with getting introduced to everything on the blockchain.
Other plans we have cooking are to curate posts that have purchased @ocdb votes on the daily as well. The highest quality posts that have purchased a vote will receive an additional vote from @ocd to increase ROI and incentivize the authors in the whitelist to create even better quality over time! :)
Rewards
As it takes a long time for our curators to find newcomers that haven't had the luck of getting enough visibility and rewards, the curators receive votes from us through the @ocd posts which they share 100% among themselves. If changes were to occur to curation/posting rewards we will adjust accordingly.
Likewise the authors will also receive a vote and visibility through the @ocd compilation posts. So make sure to follow that account so you don't miss on new and quality authors! :)
We also encourage manual curators to front-run the bigger accounts @acidyo and @anomadsoul in curation, knowing that you are voting on already curated authors from the team and that there are bigger votes coming in later increasing your potential curation rewards. Same thing goes for the @ocd posts, as the post rewards are all shared among the curators make sure to give that account a vote as well as a thank you for their hard work!
Authors who have been curated by @ocd will be added to the @ocdb whitelist and will be able to buy a vote that returns 150% of the value to your post minus curation cut (25%). The delegation on @ocdb has been coming in surprisingly fast and we are now close to 500k SP after only 1 week of the announcement.

Remember to vote on ocd-witness through steemconnect if you like what we do. The Steempower collected will be delegated to @ocd for further curation!
Oh also, the #ocd-resteem activity may only net you @ocd rewards during the weekend when the OCD Compilation posts don't occur.

Definitely support @ocd as it really brings more value to the authors :) Wonder whether I am able to combine @archisteem curation with @ocd's curation so that I can get the initiative that I am running to gain more exposure as well? There are a lot of super quality posts that really worth to be curated (a lot of them had @curie supporting them too). Might as well get @ocd in . Happy to help!

This is a good job by the @ocd team. Though am still expecting. Meanwhile @acidyo, what about nthe nominations that were made few days ago regarding @ocdb whitelisting, you've not reported the outcome yet. Am still of the opinion there should be other open ways for one to apply for @ocdb whitelisting. You could still create a form that allows users to feed in responses stating why they should qualify as well as posts for our perusal if it meets your criteria for selection. Steemit is growing and there are countless quality content creators that are undervalued. You ma not completely dig them out with manual search. Meanwhile, apart from quality, what other criteria are used for @ocd curation of posts??
We will have such an option once we see some more growth happening, it is unsure when and it will depend on that activity but for now the only way is by being curated by an OCD curator or having received a vote through the #ocd-resteem tag by @ocd.
There are no other criteria than it being quality, original and some effort behind it. :)

Not for the compilation posts no, we can't make the jobs of the curators too easy. ;)
This is an excellent idea. @ocd had become known as one of the most outstanding curatorships in steem, especially for the support they had offered to the younger ones. The fact that they assume the project again starting from supporting those who need it and who have not received great vows before, makes me have faith that many of us who continue to bet on doing quality work, but have not had much luck, will be taken into account. That's great news for everyone! Thank you for sharing it.

When you say that you're looking for authors that have not been curated in the past... I assume you mean specifically from being curated by OCD? Not ... curated by any curation service? Or are you really only looking for quite new Steemians who haven't been found by anyone before?

That's by @ocd, yes. :)
A general rule of thumb we have is to also curate authors that on average don't make a lot of rewards ~$5, but there's some times exceptions and now at the start of @ocdb we might curate authors that deserve to be on the whitelist as well. :)
