He Lost Her Because He Couldn't Handle Her Passion
She was passionate and strong-willed. She was bound for greatness and she wouldn’t let anyone stand in her way.
He fell in love with the girl with a take-no-shit attitude. The girl with dreams and goals and aspirations. He fell for her because she was driven, set her own goals and wouldn't stop until she reached them.
He fell in love with the girl who didn’t need anyone else to succeed.
He was hard-working and so grounded. He was confident in who he was and where he was going. He was everything she wasn’t in so many ways.
He calmed her racing thoughts and stalled her desire to run. He was everything she had been looking for.
She never needed him, though, and maybe that’s what got to him. She could stand on her own two feet and face any storm that came her way.
She could fight her own battles and she could defend herself. She was prepared to fight the rungs of life on her own until she met him. And then it all changed.
She wanted him with her. She wanted him to be a part of her journey. She wanted him to be with her through the good and the bad until they could look back and say they made it.
Instead, it seems it all became too much for him. Everything he thought he wanted became too real. She never lied to him about what she wanted.
And he ran as far away as he could, but he couldn’t leave it at that. He started putting her down every time he came back.
Now she was too independent. She needed to relax more. She was too busy. She needed to slow down. She was too this or too that.
She was always too-something and funny enough it was always something he used to love about her. She doesn't know how he did it but he turned all her positives into negatives.
He took everything he told her he loved about her in the beginning and made it every reason he didn’t want to be with her.
He couldn't handle her passion. **He couldn't rise to her level and felt intimidated by her so he went for whatever he could to put her down and dull her shine. **
But someone someday will meet her at the level she's at and will encourage her to be better instead of being intimidated by her.
