Some filipino facts beliefs and traditions

Growing up in phillipines and being a filipina i learned and believe in a lot of things. Most are traditional , old style of living. Believing in super natural things. And lots more and allow me to share to you wonderful steemians our beautiful culture and traditions.

Tradition.

Traditional healer ( albularyo )

Traditional healer is kind a famous to us filipinos. What traditional healer is? They are the one that we go whenever we had illness most specially when we dont have money. They are some kind of a doctor to us but what they use to help their patient is latin prayer i think , candles , egg , and oil (body oil) we believe that they have this special gift that gave to them by GOD or elements ( maligno maybe? ) to help others. They dont usually ask for payment what they do to help is free. But as time goes by some filipinos used this traditional healing to fool people pretending to help but they ask for payment.

How can the traditional healer treat you with their knowledge and belief?

it is not clear to me if they really can cure an illness but many still continue to believe in their ability to heal especially those who do not have money to pay for the doctor many of the Filipinos prefer to believe in them because they dont have money to get a doctor and be treated. And also many of us filipinos believe that some of the illness we have is because of the engkantos (elements) thats why they choose to go to traditional healer because doctors dont believe in such things.

Traditional healer still exist until now in our country and lots of filipinos still believe in them. True or not they can heal or not traditonal healing is in our culture that cannot be change even it is a modern age now.
