Interior photography contest - 10 SBD prizes - A study upon the unseen corners
William Eggleston, one of my favorite all-time photographers, also contemporary, took some famous shots, a lot of interior ones, which I exemplify below with two of them taken by the master.
The first one is called: The red ceiling.
The second one is Untitled.
Now, Eggleston is a photographer of the banal. He is a like the best documentarist that photography has in terms of finding, looking and promoting the beauty of the everyday things. Exclusively in colors. The photos that I gave as an example, probably you are wondering "What is so special about them? I can take that picture!". Well, it is not about you can take it, or not, it is about if you can see it. And, more important, if you can feel it. All his pictures promotes something beyond the superficial flawed rules of photography. They are not to be seen, they are to be felt. And this is what I propose you in this contest. To feel the space around you. Be it familiar or not. And to see beyond the obvious.
Some guidance on the rules:
- One entry, one shot, one post.
- The post must have #interiorphotography as hashtag
- Don't post-process, or don't overdo it.
- Exclusively interior shots or overlooking at interiors.
- YOUR picture.
- Be original in your approach, I hate standard interior photography, so if you are a real estate agent, don't participate.
- If you can, resteem this post, if we gather an audience, maybe I can organize some more with various themes related to the New Landscape / New Topographics Photography. This is not mandatory.
Prizes:
From my tiny bag of gold, I offer what I've been given by this platform, as follows:
- 1st place 5 SBD
- 2nd place 3 SBD
- 3rd place, well, you guessed it, 2 SBD.
Deadline
- 1 week from now!
Below there are some interior photographs which I took over the last year or so. The vast majority are from my house, friend's houses or my workplace. Those are the best place, with quiet contemplation, that can give you a sense of presence, of space, allowing you to explore the unseen corners of beauty.
