Navigating the Venetian Lagoon during a Wonderful Sunset

Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to be a photographer for a wedding in Venice.
We spent the afternoon on the island of Torcello, think that only 11 people live there!

Due settimane fa ho avuto l'occasione di fare il fotografo per un matrimonio a Venezia.
Abbiamo passato il pomeriggio all'isola di Torcello, pensate che lì ci abitano solo 11 persone!

The party ended soon so we went back to Venice with a taxi, I was tired but I took the opportunity to do some sunset shots.

La festa è finita presto così siamo tornati verso Venezia con un motoscafo taxi, ero stanco ma ho colto l'occasione per fare alcuni scatti al tramonto.

The other passengers were inside the cabin in the heat, but I, regardless of the cold wind that attacked my face like sharp blades, tried to catch some shots.

Gli altri passeggeri erano dentro la cabina al caldo, io invece, incurante del vento freddo che aggrediva il mio viso come lame affilate, cercavo di cogliere qualche scatto.

The light was fading, but the sky was tinged with a deep pink, perfect to end a busy day like that.

La luce stava svanendo, ma il cielo era tinto di un rosa intenso, perfetto per concludere una giornata intensa come quella.

The driver of the taxi was driving the boat at a constant speed but still it was not easy to get photos because the boat was constantly moving up and down.

Il conducente del taxi guidava la barca a velocità costante ma nonostante ciò non era semplice ottenere foto perchè la barca era un continuo muoversi su e giu.

Only the street lamps illuminated the churches and houses, there were no people.

Solo i lampioni illuminavano le chiese e le case, non c'erano persone.

The other passengers looked at me strangely, because I made the whole trip outside the cabin, but I must say that it was beautiful ... there was only the low and constant noise of the boat and the water that hit the hull and in front of me the sky reflected on the water with beautiful shades of purple.

Gli altri passeggeri mi guardavno straniti, perchè ho fatto tutto il viaggio all'esterno della cabina, ma devo dire che è stato bellissimo...c'era solo il rumore basso e costante della barca e l'acqua che sbatteva sullo scafo e di fronte a me il cielo che si specchiava sull'acqua con bellissime sfumature di viola.

Then we went out on the open lagoon and seemed to be part of that purple vastness.

Poi siamo usciti sulla laguna aperta e sembrava di fare parte di quella vastita viola.

The last photos, it was practically dark, I had to ask again some small effort to my photo camera raising further the iso...

Le ultime foto, era praticamente buio, ho dovuto chiedere ancora qualche piccolo sforzo alla mia foto fotocamera alzando ulteriormente gli iso...
