The Juice. To drink or not to drink that is the question!

Dear Steemos,

Unless you have been in a deserted island the past few years, you have heard the debate about fruit juices and you have seen the growth in all natural and organic juices.

Companies and individuals have dedicated time, money and effort to market, improve and bring out new options for people who each day demand more and better.

Nutritionists have taken sides in the argument and some say the juice is a great way to supplement and add nutrition to your food while others maintain that all you do is drink loads of sugar without the fivers that the fruit provides.

Personally I've gone through both fases. I had a period when I was staying clear of all juices but now I drink a glass of Beetroot juice every morning with breakfast and feel great.

There are literally millions of different variations of juices that you buy or make at home and this particular one is not my invention. It was a recepie that I found on internet and have modified it as I've gone along to suit me and my tastebuds.

This is my favorie juice because of the ingredientes and their individual benefits:

BEETROOT - low in fat and packed with antioxidants, vitamins (A, C) and minerals (magnesium and a great source of potassium). They have been shown to increase white blood cells in the body and are a rich source of Glutamine. Sports people eat beetroots (or drink the juice) as some research has showed that it will enhance the excessive tolerance during endurance cardio sports such as running or cycling.

ORANGE - Oranges have a huge number of nutrients including vitamin C, vitamin A, calcium, potassium and pectin. They are also alkalise the body and although sweet in taste they don't actually spike the blood sugar (unless you a lot of them at the same time!)

MINT - Helps digesting and encourages bike flow.

GINGER - Helps improve digestion and metabolism of food and is responsible for promoting a strong immune system.

PARSLEY - A great source of vitamin K and vitamin C as well as vitamin A, folate and iron.

Soon I will share with you what I eat in the mornings with my juice to get all the rest of nutrition (mainly protein) that the body needs.

Ciao xx
