What does the red lever do?

This one was inspired by you. That's right, I read (and upvote, and usually reply to) every reply.... The other day I posted a painting about a girl and her imaginary friend. People really seemed to like my less realistic character... and people liked having a character. So, I created another one, here. Though.... I worked on another thing: Story.

I've written about the importance of Story before-- where it looks like something's going on. I usually don't care what that something is, rather, I just create the elements that let the viewer fill in the gaps / interpretation. However, oftentimes I don't have a foreground / background.... and I wanted to start working on that more. So.... This piece has slightly more complex lighting than many of my others to imply that this is outdoors in a canyon or something... or indoors - in a huge building where the roof has caved in. Again, not important which- same lighting situation applies.

Don't do it! Don't pull the lever! Never trust a big red lever. It can only lead to no good.
