The harpy eagle is the largest eagle in Venezuela and is at the highest level of the trophic chain, this animal was sacred to the thymotocuicas who inhabited the Andean region in pre-Hispanic times.
Today the harpy eagle is under threat from the logging of its Andean forests, herbicide poisoning, and assassinations by superstitious hunters.
For me this animal is an elemental of the wind, guardian of the skies and protector of the air.
