Hello to all dear friends and well back on my blog.

Today I share with you a watercolor painting that represents my memories of the beautiful Sicilian land.

They are memories of lights, colors and architectures that I have wanted to paint in these winter days.

I also share with you a small photographic account of Taormina and his wonderful Greek-Roman theatre.

The theatre of Taormina is from the 3rd century BC. it was originally in Hellenistic style, but then the Romans with Augustus Emperor expanded it in the 2nd century AD.

For about 30 years now it is the fantastic place for the performance of operas and major concerts.

I want to emphasize the excellent and accurate choice of the site that the Greeks made to build it.

Built into the rock, it has bleachers that are home to 10,000 spectators right in front of a breathtaking scenery: the volcano Etna and the Ionian Sea.

A choice of the area that is in line with the passion and love of the Greeks for nature.

This theatre has performed great rock bands: Deep Purple, Simple Minds, Santana, Eddie Vedder, Robert Plant, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Lou Reed and many other big ones.

I happened upon the installation of Giuseppe Verdi's Aida.

A truly unique theatre that is appreciated all over the world for the union between Art and Nature.

Before going to visit the theater I recommend a nice bath in Isolabella a delightful place of Taormina.

Ciao a tutti cari amici e ben tornati sul mio blog.

Oggi condivido con voi un dipinto ad acquarello che rappresenta i miei ricordi della bellissima terra siciliana.

Sono delle memorie di luci, colori e architetture che ho desiderato dipingere in questi giorni di inverno.

Condivido con voi anche un piccolo resoconto fotografico di Taormina e del suo meraviglioso teatro greco-romano.

Il teatro di Taormina è del III secolo a.C. in origine è in stile ellenistico, ma poi i romani con Augusto imperatore lo ampliano nel II secolo d.C.

Da circa 30 anni ora è il luogo fantastico per la rappresentazione di opere liriche e grandi concerti.

Voglio sottolineare l'ottima e accurata scelta del sito che hanno fatto i greci per costruirlo.

Ricavato nella roccia, ha le gradinate che ospitano 10.000 spettatori proprio di fronte ad uno scenario mozzafiato: il vulcano Etna e il mar Ionio.

Una scelta dell'area che è in linea con la passione e l'amore dei greci per la natura.

In questo teatro si sono esibiti grandi gruppi rock: Deep Purple, Simple Minds, Santana, Eddie Vedder, Robert Plant, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Lou Reed e molti altri big.

Io sono capitato nel periodo di allestimento dell'Aida di Giuseppe Verdi.

Un teatro veramente unico nel suo genere che viene apprezzato in tutto il mondo per l'unione tra Arte e Natura.

Prima di andare a visitare il teatro consiglio un bel bagno a Isolabella un posto delizioso di Taormina.
