Flat Portrait - Shiki Akane
Back to drawing OCs ~
This time around isn't someone young (surprise, surprise) as per usual, but a woman in her early forties! Her name is Akane, she works as sous chef and has five children. As for her husband... she divorced him after thirteen years of marriage, because he changed into a total asshole and his toxic behavior was starting to affect their children. Akane waited for her husband to get fired (which started to happen every now and then) to demand for the divorce; since she earned more income to begin with and he was jobless, she easily won custody of the kids.
She's a very easy-going person who wishes for her child's happiness, and places a huge amount of trust on them. The only thing she explicitly has forbidden them to do, is entering to the kitchen when she's using it xD
Absolutely wonderful drawing. In that case less is more. I really like that simplicity in use of color.

Thank you
Really nice work! there is so many different emotions running that its hard to catch her real mood... love it!
That worries me a little because it's supposed to be a calm/neutral expression without a lot of meaning xDu
Well, her red eyes immediately give her tension.
The left elbow is in a passive mode but the right is higher and curved implying curiosity or severity. The lights reflets in pupils are crazy intense and are forming a triangle with the reflect on the mouth which make her even sharp. But this energy is counterbalanced by the blush, the spaces in the mouth, the dull haircut and especially the left horizontal eyelash.I like the line below the left eye to make age her and implying tiredness but with that fire in the eyes it's hard to believe. The range of her mouth interpretation to is very hard to contain, it honestly make me think about the Mona Lisa's mouth which, looking closely, you can't decide if she's smiling or if she's angry.
Like I said I really like this drawing for all the questions it raise, wish you the best for your future art pieces!
She looks like she’s been through a chunk of life 🙃 wow hubby sounds like he needs some professional help 😳
I’m pretty sure I’ve asked before (blame my memory issues from lack of sleep, get plenty of sleep kids!) but do these characters have a bigger story that they appear in or do you just do these one shots?
It was a wild ride for sure.
To answer your question, both. I make these OCs just because, but some are part of stories I have yet to write/I am currently writting.
Hakuno, for example. Is a character on a fic that I've been writting over the past year and half but has yet to be published.
Akane, on the other hand, is a secondary character made for an ongoing one-shot series I started halfway through october.
