In the end art comes down to composition, and as you say, fluid lines and elegant shadowing. The sexual element is more by implication than by representation. Pornography on the other hand is just plain graphical, and often crude in its general composition. But then again, time and culture also have a big influence on deciding whether an image is pornographic or artistic.
