The NSA no longer laughs both: have been hacked
The NSA spies on everything that is human and communicate. This was stated Edward Snowden in 2013, after making public hundreds of thousands of classified documents, with high category confidentiality as are established in their networks. Now, apparently, some hackers have hacked into the NSA, and managed to steal turn their hacking tools.
The files, which have been obtained by the group called 'Shadow Brokers', containing, among others, 300 MB of files with exploit code used by the NSA, as verified several cybersecurity experts, who claim that the exploits are listed in the 'leaks' of Snowden. One of them, named Claudio Guarnieri says that the hack to the NSA could have come through an attempt initial hacked by the NSA, in which the subject who suffered the attack managed to trace the origin of the attack, getting ' contrahackearles'.
These files have been stolen from Equation Group, a team of cyber espionage that seems to have connections with the NSA. The company is in possession of one of the most powerful world worms, known as Stuxnet. This worm, rootkit capabilities, was used to hack Iran's nuclear facilities.
This information was discovered last year by Kaspersky, besides discovering more attacks on other countries. Equation Group managed to stay in the shade for 14 years, and apparently has participated in hundreds of attacks on companies and countries, among which are Russia, Belgium and Lebanon.
Among the exploits they have achieved, they have discovered that some attack network equipment companies such as Cisco, Juniper or TopSec (China security company). These exploits carried out attacks on old devices that could not be patched. Moreover, they were not included in public hacking tools as Mestasploit.
In addition, hackers have released another group of files is encrypted, and have a somewhat peculiar bid and unprofessional, in which people would pay blindly in exchange for getting the key to decrypt, with no guarantee that this key they are to be sent. In the case of getting a bid to reach 1 million bitcoins ($ 563 million, or 6.32% of Bitcoin that are now in circulation) ensure that publish another set of files with important data.
All this was made public on a Tumblr page (https://theshadowbrokers.tumblr.com/), which has already been eliminated.
The market in mercenary hacking has begun. I fully expect this to develop further over the next 12 months, there is a lot of cool and creepy people who equally would put money down on a bounty for this kind of data.
