Carnivorous beauty
Sundew, (Drosera) a small carnivorous plant living in marshes and in my opinion an absolute beauty.
The small droplets are extremely sticky and small mosquitoes get stuck with the lightest touch of a leg or a wing. The plant don't "eat" the bug itself, but uses the Nitrogen from the mosquitoes as a fertilizer to compensate for the scars nutrition value in the marsh soil.

Hi @Johnrel,
Thanks for your kind words.

Lovely shot! I was just reading about droseras, there are 2 species that live near to me so in the spring I shall be hunting for them with my camera. Was this one growing in the sphagnum Moss?
Yes, for the most that is where you can find them. And usually very close to the shore line of small lakes.
The two species differ by the shape of the leaf itself. One is quite round and the other i a bit bigger and have a more elongated shape. (The one above is the elongated one...)
Good luck with the hunt for sundew, it's a rewarding subject to capture. Looking forward to see your results.
Cheers, Erlend
