Global warming refers to the long-term increase in Earth's average surface temperature caused by human activities, such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes. The increased levels of greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide, trap heat in the Earth's atmosphere and cause the planet to warm
