hmm, I can't edit the description but apparently the P1000 WILL have the ability to use the hdmi port to hook up an external monitor for not only playback but for live recording - that is a winner for me! So with a hot shoe, external mic port, 4k, RAW, and the most massive zoom in a consumer camera - it sounds like a big winner to this zooming maniac (lol).
