"Let the future tell the truth, and evaluate each one according to his work and accomplishments. The present is theirs; the future, for which I have really worked, is mine." -Nikola Tesla
We live in a world of printed lies and chanted myth. Movies, blogs and print quickly snag the truth to draw and quarter it into the deep corners of our muddy collective memory. All have been told the truth, and yet all have been deceived. Much was written of Tesla in his day, but not as much as after his death.
Most people that know something of Nikola Tesla usually fall into one of two popular camps: the worshiping fanboy club ( http://theoatmeal.com/comics/tesla, ) or the hair splitting Anti-Teslafame engineer brigade ( http://www.edisontechcenter.org/tesladebunked.html. ) Was Tesla a liar or an innovator? An inventor, or a thief? Perhaps he was merely a marketing genius?
“I don't care that they stole my idea . . I care that they don't have any of their own”
"My brain is only a receiver, in the Universe there is a core from which we obtain knowledge, strength and inspiration. I have not penetrated into the secrets of this core, but I know that it exists.”
Love him or envy him, Nikola Tesla knew he was far ahead of his time. The knowledge that it would take decades to centuries for everyone else to get on his level drove him to leave us a record that could not be blemished by his rivals or his ridiculers.
"The scientific man does not aim at an immediate result. He does not expect that his advanced ideas will be readily taken up. His work is like that of the planter - for the future. His duty is to lay the foundation for those who are to come, and point the way."
"I have already demonstrated, by crucial tests, the practicability of signaling by my system from one to any other point of the globe, no matter how remote, and I shall soon convert the disbelievers."
"In a time not distant, it will be possible to flash any image formed in thought on a screen and render it visible at any place desired. The perfection of this means of reading thought will create a revolution for the better in all our social relations."
