Experimenting With NightCafe Filters ... in a Slot Canyon
I've been playing with AI images from NightCafe. New users get a pile of credits that they can use to explore the interface.
I don't make enough money to pay the subscription fee. In the smallest subscription, the credits cost $0.048 a piece. That is more than I make on my average SteemIt posts!
So, I need to live with the free credit constraint.
The system gives enough create a basic image a page. I discovered that, if I try to tweak the image, that I can consume a huge number of credits without producing the desired image.
It is an interesting business model.
For today's post, I decided to run different filters on the image of a hiker in a narrow slot canyon. The picture at the top shows the basic NightCafe image.
This second photo shows the image with a sharp focus. The canyon looks more compelling. Oddly, the figure walking through the canyon has somewhat twisted legs.
The third image uses abstract curves. It creates an enchanting surreal flavor to the image. The curves seem to be running against the natural layering of the sedimentary rock.
This fourth image uses the Magical filter. The magical filter added greenery. I guess it would work well for a person walking through a canyon in a green fairy land.
The fifth image uses the hyperreal filter. The canyon walls seem a bit more imposing.
My final image shows the Gouache filter. This is a thick form of water color. It is quite enchanting and provides an artistic view of the canyon.
So, I used up 6 free credits to make this post. If I were on the subscription plan, I would have consumed $0.288 of credits. I wanted to create samplings of other filters. But I need to guard my credits jealously.
The standard NightCafe filter has been trained on more images; so it usually produces the best result. But it is good to know the other filters so that I can add a little variety to the posts I create. This page shows the images I've used to date.
Interesting stuff, to be sure. My wife uses Night Café quite a bit for her illustrations... although I think there's a version where you start with an actual photograph and tweak it into something fantastical.
You're a recent "returnee" here, so I expect it won't take too long before your posts can support your Night Café "habit!"
The NightCafe subscription fee is $4.74.
There is no way that I would ever make that much on SteemIt.
My average post payout is $0.04. That is only because I subscribe to DustSweeper.
I have a balance due with Dusty. So, I figured that I would drop a view AI images on SteemIt to collect my dustsweeper balance.
NightCafe gives free credits for upvoting images. I am happy to live within that limit.
I created a gallery of Meme NFTs on MemeHive which I am selling at cost to help promote the platform.
Keep dropping by...
I tried upvoting your post, but the vote wouldn't take.
